Rick…thanks for the website. I received the Mogami cable and constructed interface according to instructions for Otari MX70. I think I have the cable right. I am trying to slave the mx70 to computer generated smpte but doesn’t work. Reads time code from otari and computer just fine but as soon as I enable both master and slave the otari just rewinds or fast forwards right off the end. Any Ideas?

Rick…what can I say? You are THE MASTER when it comes to the Zeta 3. Your ability VIA TELEPHONE to diagnose and help me repair my zeta was just unbelievable! I had a bit of trouble finding the P8254 chip that’s faulty at the usual supply houses but I have located it and will let you know how I make out when it arrives. I can’t thank you enough. I don’t know what I could have done without your expert assistance.

i’ve bought a studer a80 and got an admas smith zeta three “b”.
i cant find any info on this model. it doesnt have all the knobs on the front or display.
can i use these on studer a80 16 tracks as well?

Hi Rick,
I have 3 Zeta 3 syncronizers. When they power on, the previously entered values are all bonkers. I have to do the 3 button reset, and re-set all of my values. I can’t seem to find a battery inside to replace. Can you offer any advise ?

Hi, Rick – I’m having some difficulty syncing a Fostex E-16 and Otari MX5050 mkiii – with the fostex as slave it doesn’t seem to be able to catch up (it ffwds to a point, pauses, starts, is behind, stops, and does the same thing over and over) are there settings I am missing? I know I can slave the Otari but I’m trying not to have to pull it apart to change the settings on the control PCB.

Thanks for all you have published here.
I imagine you get really busy, but I hope you can give me some advice on my Zeta Three 3.7
Unit powers up
Can receive MTC
Can generate Master LTC
Can read LTC at the Master Input and Slave Input.
Power Supply intermittently keeps cycling. Turns off, and turns back on again immediately. System restarts.
After a while it settles and works as described above.
Also getting a 68 Menu Locked Out message when trying to change things like Frame Rate (This may be user error on my part, but cannot find an explanation in the online manual published on your site on why I cannot change these parameters in the Z menu.
Any help greatly appreciated.
